Angry Hit By A Drunk Driver

My new trailer got crashed into (((hard))) tonight by a drunk driver.
I just had the truck and trailer serviced today by the shop behind my house, I went back about 9:00 pm tonight to take it over to Manheim to park it for work tomarow. Pulled out on to rt 441 left turn and this car came over the hill at a VERY HIGH speed in a 25 mph work zone. He never hit his brakes he hit the side of my trailer then went up a bank about 100 yards and passed me then hit a tree and rolled down the bank to the road in front of me. Cops ,fire trucks and meatwagon all come and take the driver away. Then they call a DOT man in to inspect my truck and trailer, everything is good untill he sees a drop of oil under the motor he writes me up for an oil leak. Then the police tell me the driver passed away on the way to the hospital.I am bummed out then half hour later they tell me he is alive but may lose an arm I don't know what to think.
So about 11:45 pm they roll his car back over on to it's wheels and the beer bottles are rolling around in the car.
I don't know what to think, mad that he hit me glad he is not dead.
I think the trailer is ok but it don't look new anymore
I will take some pictures tomarow in the daylight, then call the insurance Co Man what a pain in the butt this is going to be.

Thanks for reading my vent.
Cliff

I can understand you feelin bad about it, I think most normal folks would. But somethin to make you feel better here, Thank God for you and your big truck. By being in the right place at the right time with your truck you probably just saved a family the agony of losin loved ones that were in the wrong place at the wrong time. So don't feel bad about bein a hero even if it wasn't intentional.

I quit drinkin years ago because I knew it was gettin out a control and I'd end up hurtin myself or somebody else if I kept goin and I'm nobody special. It just takes a little common sence. The motorcycles went about the same time, another past time that wasn't good for an extended lifetime.

it definitly sucks. i feel for you.
it would be nice to say i wish he died. but even good people mess up.(i would have wished he was dead) but if he does live after loosing his arm. he will have a perminant reminder! just be happy noone else was hurt or died. i have seen to many innocent people die from this type of event.

good luck with the inshurance fiasco that will fallow. and feel free to vent when you need too. we all need to sometimes. btw how ya feeling this morning.

and kick that dot man for such a stupid thing like a drip of oil.

Sorry to hear about your trailer,, thats sucks, glad the dude never died, now you can go kill him. Lucky it was your trailer and not a car full of teens joy riding or a family on vaction. More people could have died for no reason. He wrote you up for a oil leak!! wtf..... what an DOT!! Like that was the main cause of the accident..dam now claim whiplash or emotional trama so you can pay the ticket..

He just put it in great perspective. You just saved a life or more, and a families pain.I've been through it to.In june 02 1999 i was hit head on by a drunk driver. The drunk driver died on the way to the hospital.I thank god every day that her two little kids weren't in the car at that time.A three year and five year old boy and girl.I don't think i coulda handled it.

Default Update

Thanks everyone for the kind words. []
I am getting on with my work and hope for the best, the police officer is off untill Tuesday so I could not get an update on the driver. I hope he is ok.
Got a look at the damage in the daylight today and the bottom frame rail has a flat spot on it were the car wheel/motor/front wheel drive hit the bottom frame rail I will try to add pictures.
The parts / junk on the ground are all parts of his car I keep picking out of the trailer
