didn't own any of them, but my assigned trucks, first was an 88 W900, 400 horse BCIV, 13 spd. it had 986,000 on the original bottom end when I got out of it, it's been run down the road at 2300 rpm for hours. next was a 98 T800, 460/525 N14, 13 spd, 4:10 rears with 24.5's. I pulled over Loveland pass in Colorado, towing an oversize that lost his engine in Vail one time, 125' long, 10'2" wide, 14'6" tall, gross was 134,000lbs. slow trip, but walked up one side and down the other and never touched the brakes once. best jakes I ever had. also played with some of the other trucks once in a while, we had a 4 axle Pete with a 50 ton unit on it, same engine/tranny as mine (but mine ran better!)a Pete daycab monster, 550+ cat, 18, 4:33's, locking diffs. bobtail, take off in the mystery gear and roast the rears.
Next company I worked for, had a 2000 T800, 460 N14, 13, 4:10's, and totally ungoverned. My friend (the night light duty driver, I was heavy duty) got hit one night, I was at the shop when the call came. I was running 2350 in high, still pulling 30+ lbs boost. speedo only went to 90, best guess I was pushing 105 in a 40' long, 36,000 wrecker.
Then, I went overseas. how about a 480 hp, twin turbo mercedes V8, fully syncro'd 16 spd? or an army HET, 505 hp 8V92 detroit 2 stroke? 8x8 drive, tractor and trailer wiegh 105,000 EMPTY,it's 12'6" wide, the trailer steers, and it's rated to haul a 145,000 lb M1 tank.
One that I wanted to run, but never got the chance, the mercedes 4060. 10 wheel, 6x6 tractor, 600 hp, the 16 sp, twin 55,000 winches. wish I had one here to play in traffic with.....

I have a pete with a 550 yellow iron but our other 3 trucks have ISX's, 2 500's and a 565. I can out pull the 2 500's and mind you I tip the scales empty at 60,000 lb's.

Gonna buy it and see about putting some power to it if I can just find out how to. Let alone make time to go get it and figure out what is going on with it.
Last time i saw a big cam with fuel in the oil the injector cups were leaking fuel and the motor ran away the next time we started it. Luckily it was on a test stand in a school shop and we killed it with a piece of wood over the intake. It reved so fast it was jumping around on the stand before we could kill it. Wouldn't want to have one run away while in the truck unless your positive the fuel shutoff solenoid works.

There are hundreds upon hundreds of people running ISX's who would say the same thing...okay not so much about rocker arms, but camshafts, EGR valves, and timing gears.

Nothing is perfect...

No just turbo control valves, injectors, turbo's, I have to work on them day in day out and get sick of changing the same old thing. I wish we could run 3406b's, those were the good old days.

i loved my 3406 b e, it even had the idle optimizer and would crank the thing up when the a/c would come on, when the batts would get low, or if i set it to "stay warm". that truck would run with the big dogs! it was in a pos coe shaker but with that mill and a nice seat and radio, at was a night train for sure. ah the good old days. 1800 miles at a time, no cell phones. no gps. hell, no B.S. black smoke, black coffie, and a fat check!
