No, I don't need to know Dave. Glad no one was hurt. I wouldn't want to get any one's undies in a knot over it.

I don't believe that intake horn was designed for boost much/if any over stock values. When it came onto the market it had no ports for anything, I don't know if that has changed over time since I had no interest in it.

Anyone doing mods who is in their right mind thinking about power increases would not replace a stock 'metal' intake horn with plastic. Most all know that the plastic factory intercooler hose is an issue to a stock truck over time, let alone adding more plastic??

Regardless, this is a very dangerous proposition under pressure, glad no one got hurt. It may be that the hood needs kept closed when dyno-ing with this thing on. Maybe the dyno guys will just refuse to do the trucks with these??

NP

I agree, the only time this would be an issue with safety is on a dyno with the hood open, with the hood closed it would scare the poop out of you that's about it. LOL

Dynos are a dangerous place and don't usually get the respect they deserve. Intercoolers, boots, turbos, gaskets, intakes all become bullets at full load and could take your head off if not careful. So when you go to a dyno event, don't give the operator grief for having you stand back..

Something to consider for sure!
Was it in fact plastic? Have they changed the way they are made by now?
