Had to work a lot with noise caused by interference and noise loops- turned out in 90% to be bad wiring (to be read as improper routing and grounding). The worst car I've ever seen is BMW 7 series. That thing is loaded with analogue and digital circuits- noise everywhere.

Sounds like the easiest fix is to take the HID light system out. I always wire my ham equipment directly to the battery and program the radio to auto power off after two hours. Those in-line filters are a good idea though. Here's one that I use...
DC Line Noise Filter (20 Amps max) with OEM-T in-line connectors [LF-1-OEM] - $29.99

It works really well.

yeah the HIDs are out and soon to be sold. I just decided if they were not able to be used and allow other tools in my truck to be functional, they were gone. . thanks for all the input guys
