I have spyder halos with HID's and those are a lot cheaper than RECON and I have no issues.

How are these Recon projectors made? I was thinking the OEM projectors I have seen have glass lens and metal housings / reflectors. If the Recons are like that you should be fine! If they are plastic, well, I don't know. I don't know if HID's run hotter than halogen bulbs or not. I have a suspicion that they are hotter in operating temperatures.

i dont have them myself but ive seen other people running them with hid's with no problems that ive heard of

Thats an amazing one!

They're not really a true projector that's made for HID's... so the light will still scatter. I'd say they're probably a little better than stock housings, but don't expect it to work great like a true projector/HID combo.
Really the only correct way to run HID lights is in a properly designed housing. I've seen someone actually buy new OBS ford headlights, and graft true projectors from something like a Lexus headlight into it. Looked awesome and made the lights work like they're supposed to. I actually just took my HID bulbs out. I don't plan on running them again. |
