I have a question for anyone willing to give me there opinion. I am in the market for some good 6X8's. They dont have to be the best in the world just something better then stock stuff that will sound really really good. What do you guys think?

I don't know about 6x8 but 6x9 is great from Rockford. Clarion makes a good pair and so do a few others.

Stock head unit or aftermarket?

Unless you have aftermarket HU or amps, you will likely need to get a lower ranged speaker.

I run JL audio, there are alot of good speakers out there but you might want to add some power if you are running stock HU.

Default Sorry

It will be an aftermarket hu. I dont want to have to run an amp for them but I do have the ol school punch 90 for my subs. I want to run 6X8's cuz thats what comes stock in them. No cutting.

Start by finding out the output of your HU and then go from there. There may not be a WHOLE lot of options in that size though.

I ended up doing a combo in my doors, 6" mid bass,4" midrange, 1" tweets up higher,(all Kicker) probably not what you are looking for but.

When i talked to some of the local installers (when I bought my truck) they usually went with a 6x9's because there weren't very many good options for the oddball 6x8's
