I grabbed a mtx thunderform box for my truck off of ebay a while back, ran it with a rockford fosgate amp for a year before I wanted more........ swapped the mtx sub to JL audio 10w3's sounded better, finally got around to swappin the rockford to a JL audio 500/1 mono sub amp and will never look back..... to do it again I would go after a higher end empty box designed for 12" subs, then add a pair of 12" JL subs and possibly go to the extreme of a 1000/1 amp. the 500/1 is plenty of power, but who ever said thats enough and meant it ? Lots of sub boxes on ebay, just try to get a better quality one, thicker wood for better control, plan ahead for mounting depth and you will be good to go. Great spot to mount the amp is under passenger front seat, gotta take the seat part way out to put it in, and anyone else w sticky fingers will have one helluva time gettin it out due to not being able to remove mounting bolts with the seat in the way.

i got a ext. cab (cab and half) and it feel as big as a 3rd gen quad cab.

Theres nothing under the rear bench, and theres like 8 inches of clearance down there. makes enough room for what i got.
