Default Is My Radio Dead Out Of Box

ok this is what i am thinking is going on my new alpine W505 is dead i have all the wires hooked up and when i plug it in to make sure it works i get nothing once i turn the key on i have tested with a light tester the battery constant and it is good also the red lead wire to make sure it is good and it is. then i thought well maybe my ground is bad but i tested that and it is a good ground so is there anything i could be missing i really need this radio for a trip i am taking on tuesday any help would be great. the only wire i didn't touch was the orange wire coming out of the Pac harness do i need to connect that to a constant or just leave it alone the only reason i ask is because there is no were to connect that wire on the alpine harness

Could be a blown fuse. Should be next to where the harness plugs in.

orange wire is for night dimmer when you turn the headlights on. check power to the red and yellow wire using the ground from the radio to test it. also run another ground to the chassis as a test just to make sure.....

yes the antenna was plugged in. I have tried the ground all the wires that should be hot are hot ( tested with a light tester ) the first thing i thought was a bad ground so i took a piece of wire that i had laying around and put it into the slot from the radio harness and hooked the tester to that and still same results the battery wire is hot and the red switched is hot with the key in the on position

this may sound dumb but have you hit the power / source button. i know alpines back in the day would have to be initially powered on manually by the power button....

anyone that has installed this unit what wire must be hooked up to make the unit turn on i have power to the battery constant and the red lead wire i have checked the ground to make sure it is good. so again what all wire do i need to have hooked up to get the radio to turn on it is the alpine IVA W505
