Hey guys, need some aadvice. A friend of mine has an 03 quad cab. He had 1/4 tank of diesel and put $30 in gas in it. Drove a hundred plus miles , ran fine. Wouldn't restart. Called me and I could smell the gas, when I told him he put gas in he looked at receipt and sure eenough put gas in. So we pumped tank dry, filmed with diesel and it started after 20 seconds of cranking. Ran fine. Then started taking a long time to start over the next couple days. Now will crank but no start. Any ideas?

 

Wasted the fuel system cp3 to injectors bummer that's gonna cost him but a great time to upgrade to some good parts! Not sure if any hard part damage occurred like melted piston tops but he can look at them when he pulls the injectors. Surprised it didn't knock like a blown motor! Must have had the stereo turned up!

The fact that it started and ran fine makes me think pistons are ok, he might get lucky and just need cp3

 

Buy him a green gas cap for a broday gift. That will get a laugh!
