I've read a bunch on treads but have another question. Have any of you installed one a tooth or so off? I took the gear cover off on my 86 Van 6.9 to make it easier. i got it all together and fired it up. It runs and idles after reving a little but smokes gray blue I believe bad, even though the oil filler cap when off. It never did this before. I don't want to try and drive it in case the tooth is off and egt's mit go though the roof. No gauge for that. It rev's fine but smokes bad. It will some times die at idle. I never touched the pump setting except the idle screw. Thanks for your help ahead of time, God bless,
