Hi guys I am in the process of grounding out the overdrive solenoid on my 07 5.9. I have been having trouble with it shifting into 4th gear with the overdrive off button on. So I am looking to see if anyone knows the color of the ground wire for the overdrive solenoid. Thanks

 

Its pin #6 on the trans control harness round plug. Colers vary from year to year but the pin outs are the same.

Grounding that wire will not stop it from going into OD, it will shift it into OD when it is grounded. You also cannot direct ground it or the ECU will put the trans into limp mode.

If it still goes into OD when the dash says OD off there is a problem with the harness under the dash or the ECU, seen both.

 

hey I ended up having a loose connector. Had the tranny done a little while ago and it must of finally came apart far enough to make it not work. Thanks for all the help.
