Default first cummins owner

good evening all ,i am a new owner of a recently purchased 2010 dodge 2500 megacab 4x4 with the 6.7 turbo cummins engine in it, it has a 6 inch lift 355-65-18 tires ride like a dream compared to my friends not lifted gas 2500 2001 dodge that used to pull my horse trailer. after reading the forums with all i have seen about the emissons on the truck is the reliabilty of it since it cost me an arm and a leg and i have read on the carfax that the turbo was replaced by the dealership once already could i expect to see any other problems with the truck in the future or did i make a mistake buy purchasing this model truck?

Welcome to the diesel community. I had a 2007.5 and currently own a 2011 both with 6.7's and automatics. I like both of them over any other of the diesels I've driven. I don't know why the turbo was replaced on your truck but I wouldn't say it is anything like a common problem. The 2007.5 had a lot of Check engine lites early on but that was a problem with the new motor and programing. The 2011 is a great truck and I've been troble free so far.

No you didn't make a mistake, ask that question 3 months from now when the turbo goes back out due to all the epa crap. I did my 2008 for mpg gains mostly and never looked back.

drive the truck like it was designed, (tow tow tow) and the dpf system wont give you issues. if you daily drive it with no load, then delete it. and save your self the time and buy head studs when you delete it!!!!!
