Default 1986 6.9 what to look for

Hey guys Newb looking to buy an 1986 6.9 with a Banks Turbo Kit, 150k on the clock and a C-6 Trans. Any insight as to what to look for would be appreciated!

I am familiar with the 7.3 PSD's but this thing is Greek to me.

Thank you!

find out if the injectors or pump have been changed, if not they will be needed soon. other than that it is a normal look over. fuel leaks around the return lines is normal, a 45 dollar kit will fix that. make sure the motor is cold when you start it, dont let them start it before hand.

Thanks, I take it that cold starts like any other Ford Diesel, glow plugs, blue smoke etc. Are the things to look for?

Anything in particular to look for in these early Trucks that may be of concern? It’s a 2wd

Thanks!

a good pump runs around 500 bucks. good injectors are around 300. pump will need to be timed after it is installed. DO NOT GET PARTS FROM DPS OR PENSOCOLA!!!
