So I have the egr/cooler delete and exhaust should be here on Friday, question is, if I install these 2 things without a tuner will it do any harm to my motor other than having my CEL come on. I was going to install this saturday

 

Nope, it will be completely fine. A tuner will just help you take advantage to your new upgrades

 

you will need to put a smarty me or a h&s tuner on there or you will go into limp mode reduced power. after several miles it will go into limp mode.

 

I'm not questioning you Diesel Pap, just think it is funny that there are people that say they did the deletes without a tuner and only got a CEL. It would have been nice to hear about the limp mode, I probably would have gotten a tuner first.

 

you have to trick the ecm someway.

 

C'mon guys this is not good advise, of course you have to run a tuner... the vehicle will attempt regen, check engine lights will come on, CEL's are not there to ignore, how you will you know when your 68RFE Transmission or turbo charger is screaming for attention. The tuner is a must and I recommend the H&S Mini Maxx hands downs!

The fuel economy saving running the Mini Maxx with your planned mods will pay for itself in no time.

Hell no dnt run it with out shutting the regen off at least use sims or a tuner is the best way just just like dieselpap and dave said above......... smarty or h&s are good tuners
