Default time+money+spare truck= delete ?'s

Finally got time, money and a spare truck, so here are my thoughts. I want to get rid of all the garbage and only spend my money once, I'm not trying to build a monster, just want to better my truck and get some HP and fuel mileage gains. My to buy list; aFe Transmission Pan, ARP Head Stud Kit, H&S Maxx Flow Intake Manifold, Mini Maxx Race Tuner, WITH Pyrometer, 5" TBE with muffler, And a cooler delete. Any thoughts or comments? I think I'm going in the right direction from all I've read on here. Thanks in advance.

I'm going with the head studs for my own piece of mind, I'm still undecided about the exhaust, just hate to spend the money on a down pipe and turn around to buy a full exhaust later. One question i have about the cooler delete is do I want to plug the coolant line or run the bypass hose? I'm also doing alot of reading about the fuel side, any recommendations?

Good start. I agree with the complete exhuast, it's a better way to go with the 6.7's. You might look into a gage pod and a boost gage. The drive pressures can get pretty high with some of these tunes and the head studs will help but the head gaskets are in question on these engines. Lazersmith has the best replacement gasket so far, if you need to make that change. Also buy the better studs not the standards. They cost more but they work better. Lift pumps are not the best in these trucks either but mine is holding good for now. The Airdog systems are pretty good and it's the dirrection I'm going if I need one. On another note, have you had your truck very long and is it still completely stock? If so have you had the recll done for the engine fire problem?

I bought this truck new and its still stock. I'm one of the guys that waited for the warrenty to run out and made the 100's of trips back and forth to the stealership so they could flash, clean and replace whatever. I think i'm up on all the recalls, but is there something to look for in regaurds to the fire issue? One got note; I keep all my records from the dealer, hired a lawyer and got a good amount of $$$ back from dodge under the lemon law.

If you do the EGR and cooler delete then you have nothing to fear. There's a problem with the cooler line being too close to the firewall and starting engine compartment fires. It can be dangerous and cost you your truck. I'm courious about what a good amount of money is considering the problems that come up with these trucks. Also have you had problems with the heater blend door? I spent 18 months fighting with the dealer and finally had to look up the problem on the web and tell them how to fix it before I got any satisfaction and you shouldn't keep your receipts in your truck like I did. I got reprints from the two dealers that were servicing my truck but that was only blind luck.
