Hello, and thanks for assistance with trans problem.

Purchased 2000 Savana with rebuilt eng and trans with approx 12K on both / ran fine for several weeks / starts fine / when driving, the light on dash illuninating odometer goes out, and trans downshifts, and service eng light is on.

Not finding any imfo online nor schematic to try and see what circuits would cause the light to go out and also have to do with trans

Fluid is full.

Well, I checked the trans fluid yesterday / engine off, but ( HOT ) as the stick says --- dipstick also says to have engine running ---- Eyesight did not see this, and I had not remembered this is one of the essential things to do.... So as truck limped along heading to a local parts store, where they informed me they could not do a scan, unless my truck would fit on the lift, which it did not, I left. But I stoped into a parking lot to re check fluid, and it was below cross marks, so I put in a quart.
The engine light went off, and it now shifts, but seems to have a whine sound. I hope I didn't damage anything while the fluid was low.

Guess I'll pat myself on the back, and slap myself for not checking while running.

 

****Problem still there on Monday
Can't figure out how light for D/R/N/1/2/3 in dash lights when trans shifts, and when out, trans stops shifting above 2nd gear.

Anyone know of schematic ??????
