Default Oil leak.

The other day I noticed my 97 is leaking, well more of a drip really. From the front of the motor. Up top somewhere. My buddy has a 00 7.3 and said more than likely is o-rings. I didn't know wich ones he was talking about. And I'm leaving in less than three months for the navy. Is it somthing that could wait till after basic? Or better off doing it before? Any and all help is appreciated.

Not sure which o rings he is talking about.... I don't know of any o rings that will leak down the front of the motor... The motor naturally tilts towards the back so anything in the valley would leak down the back of the motor...

Thy where mine was dripping down. I originally thought it was the diff cover. And that looks like a damn job. I got to looking and it's oil and now it's down the front. I'm atoned. As you said. I'm probably just gonna leave it be. It ain't hurting nothing.

More than likely it is your oil cooler leaking in that area. Not really gonna hurt anything, just have to keep an eye on your oil level. Mine tended to leak a lot more in the winter when the oil is really cold.
