My 1992 ford 7.3idi 4x4 shift lever will not go into neutral or 4 low any advice?

 

ur transfer case is toast..... I litterly just replaced mine yesterday .. 125 at the local junk yard...... much better than the one I had... the bog warner 1345 is a tuff unit .... just need to replace fluids frequently amd dont land it on any rocks....

 

wrong. the linkage is most likely rusted up. not many people us low alot so the shifter rusts in place for the sideways movement. take it off and free everything up and send me the 125 bucks. i will pm you my addy.

 

LOL...... good possibility also.... mine wouldnt go into 4 low either... new one is awesome ... shifts like butter.. much better....... could see how they could ruct up though..... hey where could I get the little bushings in the link between the trans and the transfer case shifter... the little link bar there... i need new bushings... cant locate

iv got a 91 and i took all the linkage apart and cleand it up put it together and it shifts fine but it wont lock into 4L or 4H it kicks jumps and slips
