Default 04 6.0L sounds like it is reving until 45MPH

Need help. 2004 sounds like it is reving until about 45 MPH. It feels a bit underpowered while it's doing it, but not too bad. I haven't ran the codes yet. I've also been smelling anti-freeze after driving it awhile.

if your smelling coolant you should probably check your egr valve. Any modifications done to the truck? How many miles?

167,000 miles. No mods. Had the injectors replaced under warranty a couple of years ago.

I'd suggest an EGR cooler delete kit to start off.

I'd suggest reading codes first, seems like the most logical step.

Diagnose, verify, repair. No point tossing un-needed cash at it.

But tossing cash at a 6.0 usually fixes the problems!!! right!?!? haha!

Eventually yes it will. Unfortunately it's a sad reality too many 6.0 owners are faced with.

Welcome to DB by the way Rob, haven't seen you around before.

Thank you! I actually joined in 2009 but at the time only had friends with diesels and I had a gas burner, I bought one 2 years ago and have been messing around with them ever since so I figured what better way to show my excitement then finally becoming active on this forum.
