Default TST Powermax for 5.9 cummins othe upgrades necessary?

I've just bought my 2006 RAM 3500 5.9 cummins manufactured in early 06 with 6-speed manual tranny and 4x4 drive, and would like to add a TST Powermax as a performance upgrade. I'm new to tuning engines and I'm not necessarily looking to tear up my tires at every light or any kind of competition racing, I will be doing a considerable amount of heavy towing and would like to have 1000 ft/lbs of torque available if the situation called for it. Most of the time I think I will be driving around with stock settings or a low setting on the programmer for fuel economy. My question is what other upgrades will I need in order to keep my truck in good shape if using the TST programmer ? I'm currently on a $2500 budget but am considering upgrading other components in the near future.

I have had a TST powermax on a 2000,2004 and a 2006. I wish I could get it for my 2012.

Your clutch will be the weak point. Run no more then 2 on hp and 2 on tq on the stock clutch. You won't be abel to use the full power potential without a pusher pump. Personaly I wouldn't bother with a pusher pump.

I still have the TST from my 06 If you are interested in a used one. It has the simple remote has pyro reading and you have your hp and tq settings. Send me a pm if your interested.

Do you think I should look into upgrading my intake and exhaust prior to getting the TST programmer ? Also does your unit have the built in gauges?
