alright i have been reading around about TC lockup switches... i have found how to install,. but when do you use it ? is there a certain speed or just whenever you want to hold a gear? and whats the difference between that and a mystery switch? (or is there)..

 

I use mine when I'm on the hiway and when I'm slowing down. Keeps the RPM's higher for better engine braking. Another time I use it is in town so the t/c isn't locking and unlocking. A locked t/c will produce way less heat compared to unlocked.

 

now i have a six speed but my brothers truckis an auto and he uses his to lug his truck downin low sppeds... for instans only turning 1000-1200 rpm at 30mph he also uses it when we are on the highway towing a light load.. so when he starts to go up a little hill that he knows his truck will make with just loosing a little speed he locks it in that way it does not down shift.

 

So does it still lock up on its own or will I have
to do it every time?

 

It will do it on it's own as well.
