you gotta get a transfer case and a whole new front axle to have your gear box, i would check at a junk yard cause it'd b a little cheeper, but you'd also have to shorten your driveshaft and look at the your tranny to see if the transfer case will bolt up if not your gonna have to get a new tranny too.

I've been wanting to do this do my 86 F250 as well, been crawling around under my dads 94 F350 looking at how everything bolts up. I'll probably break out the tape measure tomorrow and start taking measurements.

just remember it is much cheaper to sell truck and buy 4x4. but for those that love the chalenge do yourself a favor, but whole truck that is blown up or wrecked. the small parts will eat the budget.

yea i know it would be cheaper to buy another truck but the truck i have has value to me. it is how me and my girl meet. so cant sell it. i am thinking it will cost me about 2000 or 3000 to do it and i am fine with that dont have to do it all at once. i will check junk yards for truck never thought about that thanks and will let you know how it is going

I'm over $100 in nuts and bolts alone...

personally if you were gona do it i would at least buy a whole parts truck...aint hard to find a run down 4x4 ford for cheap. depending on how handy you are might be easier to get a chassis and do a body swap...count on it being lots of work

not impossible but just realize what your getting into..
