question about tow cars
so my dad bought a new motorhome (beautiful 8.0L) and he is now looking at getting a new tow car for it. hes getting a jeep because he loves the rag top
so my question is this. he told me that some states require towed cars (not a car on a trailer) to have an electric breaking system. i know texas doesnt and was wondering what states do. and if he would have to meet these laws since the motor home and jeep would be registered in texas.

Im almost 100% sure electric breaks on anything but a trailer is illegal. Or at least when i went to CDL school thats what i remember hearing. And as for the trailer im not talking a semi trailer, im talking a trailer behind a 1ton or smaller.
My grandparents have owned a motothome for as long as I remember and have pulled my grandpas little 5 speed escort behind them since 99 and all they've done is light hook ups and that's no trailering they've been everywhere. Should be fine
