Default Getting My Straight Piped LB7 louder?

How can I get my straight piped louder? If I add a larger diameter exhaust will that help? Also how is the edge juice for a chip? Suggestions welcomed

How big of an exhaust did you put on? 4" is pretty much as big as you can go for your down pipe... Edge is a great chip if your not looking to go too crazy

A megaphone tip oughta make it louder, not sure where you'd get one. Probably have to be custom. Personally I think it'd be cool to make it look like an upsized version of the stock tip, just my $.02

Y'know, the late model megaphone tip that's supposed to cool off the exhaust gasses. I'm not sure if they were on the LLYs or not.

Well I haven't done anything to it I bought it used and it had the cat and the muffler cut off. I would say it is pretty much stock. What is a megaphone tip and where could i look for one?

A megaphone tip is shaped like a cheerleader's megaphone or cop's bullhorn on the end of the exhaust pipe. Used to be on hot rods and duece coupes, might check out MoonEyes, SoCal Speed Shop, Speedway motors, etc. For larger pipe, it may have to be custom made, look for some kinda large metal cone that you can cut the tip off of to fit your exhaust pipe.

Probably be better to start with a downpipe back exhaust kit in a larger diameter, preferably the largest you can get in 309 stainless steel. Stacks about level with your roofline ought to crank up the volume a bit.

Again, just my $.02, food for thought.

how much louder do you really want it? like loud enough to make your teeth rattle?

You need to remember that its MUCH louder outside the truck than inside, I know my truck makes a pile of noise outside, but it doesn't seem nearly loud enough inside

If you want a pile of noise (drone) I still got my old 12v Cummins for sale I had the top of the stack about 5 inches below roof line (ran outta pipe). It sounded awesome and I don't regret a minute of driving it but the fact that I had noticeable hearing loss after a few weeks driving it kinda sucked.
