Replacing injectors
My friend just called me and his cylinder 2 injector failed and we are not sure can you replace just one injector or do you need to replace the whole set?
Im not sure how he knows, he just called me asking if there was a specific procedure or programing he needs to do if he replaces one injector... i will tell him to do that thank you!
To just replace one injector is the same procedure as replacing them all. Pop it out, suck the fluid out of the cylinder and pop the new injector in. Make sure to lube the new injector up so it doesn't roll an oring.
But let's remember that one injector going out is usually followed by more... And it could be something as simple as a uvch plug burnt up or bad wire... For instance, I was doing some work last week and found that the uvch plug had two burnt glow plug pins... I had only been starting on 6 glowplugs all winter... Amazing how it still started great down into single digits...
