Question Wild turbo options.

Tried searching around the forums and haven't found much relevant info so Im wondering if ya'll have any genius ideas on this conundrum.

My plans: Trucks the demo/show truck for the performance diesel side of my shop. Tows anything I can find to hook to it. Sled pulls all summer and runs down any duramax I can find. Im looking to go "ape sh*t wild!" with it. Terminator twins are in the near future as are a set of custom 400+cc B Code sticks. Building the next motor in my spare time, H11, Forged H beam rods, Fire rings, Fly cut pistons, exc.... but wont be done for some time yet since spare time is a laughable concept.

My big debate is on what to do for the boost factor. I know that ball bearing garretts are crap since they aren't serviceable/rebuildable and don't flow much more than stock with a housing upgrade so I know I'm not going with a reverse flow of any sort. Im throwing around 3 ideas at the moment

1. ATS 3000/4000 kit, WOP GQSSB, exc
2. Find a massive semi monster. Really liking the idea of a 3406E CAT or a Red Top cummins, N14, or something of the sort and then plumb it myself but matching up the right MAP has me at a loss
3. Twins of some form. Still need to figure out what to run only now I have 2 to chose and buy. I'd love if there was a way to get the air i need using the stocker compounded but I'm doubting it.

Obviously $$$ is somewhat an option since this is a demo and you dont sell much when the parts cost of the upgrade your flaunting is equal to the truck but yet I really wanna see what it takes to kill a Dana 80 so like everyone I'm looking for the cheap expensive option

compounds are the only way to go. you would need to talk to someone about what size turbos to go with.

personally, stay away from ATS. talk to empire diesel. they can set you up.

Any reason for not liking ATS? Looking into them but once more still have no clue what way to go altho their twin compounded kit is intriguing

ATS is a company that focuses on quantity, not quality. they say they have a 3 year/ 300,00 mile warranty but as soon as you pay them, they don't hold true. that and they really don't have a clue what they are talking about. if you want to cloud out a intersection and melt your pistons, then they are the guys to talk to.

Gotcha! yea after putting $15000 in parts for my new motor Id probably kill something if she melted down.

Any thoughts on my crazy notion of using a semi turbo possible compounded with the stock one??

stock turbo will not hold the boost. why spend 15,000 on an engine and cheap out on the turbos?

well i'vee looked at the turbo on the N14 cummins. i can't remember exactly what model of holset it is tho. but as far as the orientation of the exhaust inlet and compressor outlet, i bet it could be done. but it might just be a waste of time.
