Default Dual Alternators

Hey guys. I was trying to find information on converting my single alternator setup on my '99 suburban to the dual alternator setup. Any information is appreciated.
Second question if anyone knows, i was wondering if the suburbans that did not come with the third row seat, whether or not the hookups are under the carpet flooring or not.
Thanks.

It was a factory option on the 6.5.

The bracket that holds your AC compressor already has part of the mount built in.

Dieselplace had an article on it with part numbers. Google should turn it up if you try a search...

This MOD is due for an update. The GM parts for this MOD have been discontinued. There are some companies that make a complete second alternator package for $400 - $600 that have the parts.

After an exhaustive search I found a guy who fabricated the needed parts. He still has some. I ordered a kit and will let everyone know how it goes. The website is

I have a question about the size of teh ground wire. If you increase the alternator to a high output alternator you also increase the size of the positive wire between the alternator and the battery.

Do you also have to increase the size of the ground wire?
