Default no throttle response at all

It's not my truck its my cousins. He's had the truck 2 weeks and babys it. So he decided to wash the engine at the car wash. I got in it afterwards and it cranked up fine but then the throttle went crazy reving up on its own. I shut it off immediately. Cranks it back up and the throttle was dead. It idles fine but that's it. Any ideas? It has efi live but that's all.

any codes?

i believe if the voltage/ohms of the accelerator pedal are off it will go into dead throttle/limp mode. try disconnecting the electrical harness connectors and drying them out. WD-40 helps with this.

i don't think the accelerator sensor codes will turn on the CEL, so you'll need to scan for them anyways

That's exactly what we did. Disconnected everything and let it dry out overnight. Runs like a top again. Thanks man for your help
