when i shift into 4-low, i push the troddle down and i dont go anywhere then it grabs and i move foward, then it shifts 3 times before 20mph. is there something wrong with my transfer case or is it my trans slipping? because im about to replace my trans here in a week or so....i drive a 2003 cummins 5.9l HO. no big mods, only an edge ez and cold air intake

 

4 low is a low gear that is why it shifts soo much, the grabbing might just be it engaging because your going past neutral when u shift the transfer case.

 

Sounds like the linkage needs adjusted to get it properly into gear to start with. Quick shifting in low range is normal. How fast do you expect to go in low range?

 

i was about to climb a snow bank at school but when i was on the dry pavement it was doing this. and i dunno how fast...25? whenever it redlines

 

use 4 high nxt time if you wana go faster, and you shouldnt use 4 wheel drive on dry pavement
