Default dont wanna shred my tranny

1996 cummins with the auto tranny. i want to do the free mods( slide the fuel plate forward, afc tunning, etc....) but i dont wanna kill my transmisson would a transgo shift kit protect it im not lookin for big HP i just want to make my truck a lil more fun

yep, invest in a good TC and you will be good to go for many many miles

thanks just didnt want to mess anything up. will it be ok to run without a new TC

could i do a new TC and not the shift kit..... only reason im askin is because im really short on cash and dont know if i can do both

nope they are one in the same. the factory hydrolics suck so the shift kit inhanses line pressures and suck and the factory TC's dong have enough frinction material to hold any tourue. so your tranny will granade without upgrading both. you can find good single disks for around $300 and a shift kit is like $80 if you di it yourself

Save up your $$$ and do a TC and a new valve body at the same time.
