IDM swap

I have a 96 F-250 7.3 the got wet going down the road .. massive puddle. Did some research and believe it is the IDM that is causing it to smoke the way it is. What years can I swap for to get a 120 v IDM

The 120s are in the 99.5-03 I believe. Do you have any friends with a powerstroke? It would be really easy to swap IDMs to find out if that's really the problem.
