Default Got a question guys?

I have a 07 Lbz duramax that I just bought back in july, I have recently been in here looking around at what some good upgrades would be so this is what I have done so far, I bought a diablo predator programmer put it on when I turned it up it limped the tranny, so I bought the transgo jr kit problem solved, just today I ordered a mbrp 5" downpipe back no muffler exhaust kit, I took the factory air box and modified it just from what I thought looked like to me would help it some, I pulled the lovered end out of it and rotozipped some enlongated holes in it to help get more air in it but it does have the factory style filter in it, do you think I need to buy a new larger downpipe, and cold air kit, or will what I have done be fine not racing it just playing around I got a outlaw camaro to race at the track just thought I would have some fun with my tow rig, this is my first diesel so what do I need thanks for the help.

Stock filter and airbox are more than capable for engines over 500hp, unless you plan on spending an exorbitant amount of money to upgrade the rods, pistons, turbo, headstuds, transmission rebuild, fuel system, etc. etc.

your setup sounds fine as is for playing around

Thanks Ram, I appriciate the info after I get the exhaust on I plan on pulling the allison installing the complete transgo kit and at least a two disc billet converter, but as for the engine your right I will prob. never go that far into it. tks, Jerod

I do have one more question what is the advantage of a egr delete my brother has a 95 cummins he put one on it and said it was excellent and told me maybe I should look into one I have already had to replace the stock egr valve when I bought the truck but no problems since shed me some light.

with the allison it would be recommended to do as suncoast gmax 6pac kit or PPE stage 4 kit, with a triple disc-converter, a full transgo shift kit is not needed on the 6-speed trans

I have an EGR block plate which slides in the between the exhaust up-pipe and the egr cooler, it stops flow of exhaust into the egr cooler so it cant be re-routed into the fresh air of the intake, prevents soot buildup inside the intake runners and turbo

Just block the egr. blocker plates are cheap.
