Default Coolest-sounding diesel on the planet!

From 4btswaps.com: It's a 12V53 (53 cubic inches per cylinder) 2-stroke Detroit, a V12 at that. They had 4 cylinder heads same as a 3-53 head, and used two 6V53 based blocks directly bolted together, 2 superchargers, plus twin turbos! I think one long crank shaft and a pair of long camshafts, but not sure on that.

Only 15 of these engines were ever built! My old 46 Chevy needs one of these!

I need to change my pants now....

Honestly, I somehow expected a Detroit, nothing can match their sound

It is a Detroit. And if you think they sound so cool just spend a day driving one and you just might change your mind. Especially with twin short stacks like I did. More than one day. Good way to end up about half deaf.

Like an old man told me. The only way to drive a Detroit;
a. open door
b. get in truck
c. slam door on fingers
d. drive it like you stole it.

Yup, pretty much.

One of our 2007 KW's is down until at least 12/6 with Cummins national backordered parts, so we had to put an old truck back in service for a bit....with a 8V92 Silver in it....the CB blew up the first day it was seen out in the open....I really need to take some pictures..

I know it's a Detroit, I was just saying that based on the topic title I expected to see one
