Default 1999 Powerstroke or 2002 Duramax

Hi. Im new to the site and this is awesome a site for all diesels! Hell ya! Well I ready got my first question. I have a 1999.5 F350 Crew cab dually loaded it's a nice truck. 204,000 miles. Ts performance chip, 4 inch turbo back and other things. I also have a 1997 f350 7.3 on 37s. I'm thinking about selling the 1999 and buying a 2002 GMC 3500 duramax dually. Both are 4x4. The duramax has 245,000 miles, crew cab loaded. It is a friends truck and I know it has been taken care of. It had a Plow on it but was only used for his street and 3 small drive ways. It was used for his roofing company to tow tear off trailers and his daily driver, and to go back and forth to CO for hunting. It had new injectors at 100k miles. It never had and extra power until about 10k miles ago he added a bully dog for fuel economey. What do ya think I should do? I'm kinda excited to try the Dmax he wants 10k
Thanks for your time, Matt

I wouldn't sell your truck to buy a Dmax with more miles...

I totally agree with 95powersmoker and gunman....stay with your powerstroke unless u are itching for a new truck then id spend the money on a 6.4L they aare so worth the money. Yeah the duramaxs make good power but so do the 6.4Ls and your not buying something known to have problems like puking injectors out like clockwork

I don't like the IFS, don't think it can handle off-roadpremature BALLJOINT, TIE-ROD and PITMAN/IDLER ARM wear!!!

I am itching for a new truck really bad but I dont want to make a stupid choice. one reason I did want it is because it will really lower my truck payment and my insurance per month. it just has so much more power than my truck. I like how it drives better but, nothing says its actually better. I just wanna make the better choice. I have had a few 7.3L and I just wanna try something new. but If its not in my best interest then I dont wanna do it. the dealership my brother is the service manager for is the dealer that has done all the service and he did say that the truck was very nice and ran great. He did say that the injectors that were put in he thought were not stock replacements and that they were aftermarket. I that means anything. I guess my last question would be which truck over all is a better truck?

So his truck is better... Does it last another 10k, 20k, 100k before you have to dump a huge pile of money in it... Or do you keep on paying what your paying and rolling with the punches in your current truck? Food for though. Do what you want.
