Hi there my 1992 gmc 6.2 diesel is smoking blue a large amount. Once it gets warmed(5 mins) it is fine. Is this a sign of bad injectors i put new glowplugs in it. I was looking at those marine injectors are they any good.

 

it sounds like a lot of burning oil if its blue but i could be wrong, if the glow plugs are bad it can start funny and smoke a bit. some other guys may have an idea of what this is.

 

there is an '83 6.2 on the fire department i work at and it does the same exact thing. smokes blue when starting and then is fine after. the glow plugs are old and the truck sits for weeks sometimes moths before stating it again. im going to assume its a typical 6.2 thing to do this.

 

I have an 84 and it smokes on a cold start, normal stuff.
