I have 375000 miles on my truck. Runs great except for it has recently developed a lope upon starting. Doesn't matter if it hot or cold. anyone have some insight? Thanks

Oh and it idles fine once i lightly step on accel. and release it.

 

Mine did what you were descirbing back before I replaced my injectors. It would lope a couple times and then smooth out. It would do it so hard in the winter it would actually kill the engine.

Have the injectors ever been replaced?

 

No they have not been replaced. thats on the list of maintanance for this truck. it does not lope if u lightly press the accel. when starting and idles pretty low at start up.

 

Gotta get it on a scanner and see some actual values... Everything before that will just be guessing. With those miles, I can only imagine what kind of condition all the parts of the injection system are in.

 

Thats the plan, found a place near me that is diesel only. Said for an hr labor they'll run it on the computer. Have heard good things about them....
