Default Diesel Mechanic

im a junior in highschool and im thinking of goin to school for diesel mechanic when i graduate. Now the question i have for you diesel mechanics is...do u guys like (love) your job? Do you like getting up everyday to wrench on someone elses truck? cuz my grandpa is a mechanic ( non-diesel) and he dont even like workin on his own car anymore...i dont want that to happen to me. i wanna open a diesel performance shop someday..so i dont want it to get old after awhile.
Thanks!!

I'm 47 and have been turning wrenches for the last 35 of them, 20 years as a self-employed truck and heavy equipment mechanic. It is hard work and will definately make you feel a lot older than you really are. I have been tired of wrenching for some time, but have never been able to find another career that I can make good money at. If you have your heart set on wrenching, I say go for it!
