Default electric to manual transfer case

i have an 03 cummins dually and im wondering if it is possible to switch it from electric to manual, (just dont trust the electric) i have read where it is possible but if you only get a manual transfer case due to the shifter shaft that comes out of the case. if it is possible will it mess with the computer and if so how do i cancel the code perminatley??? thank you!!

i just found out that i can convert it over, my transfer case is bad so im going to get a new one but it will be manual. the only down side to this is that they said that the ecm will throw a code if the motor does not actuate so im thinking if i just mount the motor to the frame out of the way and let it actuate the motor but bolted to nothing just to trick the ecm i should be ok......right???
