Default New Owner looking for upgrades

so far i have put an Afe cold air intake, a hushpower exhaust, mbrb cat pipe, and kicker door speakers. I was wondering if i should get a bully dog or smarty programmar? I was wondering if Recon makes good lights for trucks also?

Recon is a hit or miss company. As far as programming, depends on what your goals are. If it were me on a 95% stock engine, Smarty JR. Really no need for gauges, though I wouldn't keep em out of mind, fuel system upgrades (fuel lift pump, bigger or double CP3's), or transmission upgrades.

i've ran both the edge and smarty on my personal trucks and i liked the smarty jr better, for me it had better low end power and better fuel milage it was nice tho being able to change the edge on the fly

I just upgraded to the Smarty. With the addition of gauges and new clutch, this is the best deal I think. The Airdog is a great investment as well but, if you are thinking about doing more and more as you go, I would go with the Smarty and gauges. Very much worth the $685!!!

You're going to get a lot of different opinions when it comes to programmers. I believe you just get something, try it, and sell it if you don't like it. Gauges are a must, and if you want a clean look that is affordable go with the 3 in 1 gauge. I use it and it's great, plus you can buy them cheap on some of the other diesel websites.
