Fuel Tank Capacity
How do I determine if my front fuel tank is a 17, 18, or 19 gallon tank? The guage doesn't work on that tank (guessing the sending unit, float, or wire is bad), and I am trying to change the sending unit but, I want to make sure that I buy the right one for the right fuel capacity. Rear tank runs out at 1/4 and I can add 14 gal. to fill it up if this helps any.
Thanks,
Sandman

From what I have found, looks like the front is an 18 gallon and the rear is a 19 gallon because they are calling the 19 gallon an aft midship. Just trying to find out if the front sending unit is a motorcraft PS-19 (17 Gal.), PS-21 (18 Gal.), or a PS-23 (19 Gal. aft midship). Any help is greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Sandman

What I saw a few years ago for my F150 and F250 big block was a 19 front 18 rear. I don't imagine the diesels would be different but ya never know. Ford likes to do some crazy stuff sometimes.
I would guess that if the part description says the 19 is the rear, get the unit for the 18 gallon.

Well, looked in the owners man. and all it says is 19 and 18. Doesn't say which is which. I just figured the 19 was the rear because everything that I have seen calls the 19 the aft midship.

There again, I figured the aft meant after the axle.
