Default 4bt cummins

i thought about putting a 4bt cummins in my 93 1 ton dually chevy 2 wheel drive single cab it has a 6.2 in it now i'm either going to put a turbo on it or put in the 4bt cummins but not sure how much performance i can get out of the 4bt and still have a long lasting good fuel mileage truck engine any ideas would be helpful.

i don;t know how much trouble it will be locating one but if i decide to go that route i hope the conversion is easy and parts are easy to find and i hope i can get around 200 horsepower at least.

The price of the 4bt has went up in recent history. The conversion would not be terrible but they are never just a quick deal. If all you are looking for is 200hp why not just turn the pump up and put a turbo on the 6.2 a factory 6.5 makes 200hp so with a turbo on a 6.2 you should be right around that.

You won't gain much by porting the heads or marine injectors. The best improvement is the turbo. That with turning the i/p up and 4" exhaust should get you over the 200 mark.

I may have a lead on a turbo. What part of IL are you in?

I'm in south west indiana. Just north west of Evansville. I will see if the turbo is for sale. It is the completed 6.5 turbo setup off a 93.
