Default Snow or Cooling Mist Water Meth Injec.

I can pick up a used Snow Performance Stage 3 kit for $500, guy in town put it on his 6.4 then blew the engine. Used it for 2 weeks. Here is a link to his kit.....

Snow Performance Boost Cooler Stage-3 MPG-MAX Fuel Economy

I have read alot about the cooling mist on here, mostly on cummins diesels, and didn't know which would be the better deal. I like how the cooling mist has a build your own option.

Thanks.

They all do the same thing, I'd go for whichever had the higher rated pump (looking for 250PSI), but I'd probably jump on the stage 3 I guess.

Those kits can be had for $599 with free shipping on ebay too. Just FYI.

Ok, it's actually a MPG MAX kit from snow and is different from their stage 3. I called them and they said the MPG MAX kit has two sets of nozzles, one set that kicks in at low boost, and the other at higher boost and is adjustable. I haven't pulled the trigger yet on buying it and it's still available. So far mdub is the only person that commented out of 60 some views.

Mdub, do you have a set up on your rig?

I do not, but have done a bit of research on it. I will be adding one as soon as I can, mostly for water. I'd stay away from using too much meth. Personally, on a 6.0, I wouldn't really go more than 30% meth/70% water. I will probably run something closer to 20/80 myself. My main reason is for keeping my combustion chambers clean as a whistle, especially when I'm running on veggie. This will help prevent any deposits from forming, and help keep the motor cool when I'm hauling the camper through the mountains.

I am going to build a DIY setup though. You can buy the pieces all relatively cheap. The pump is key, I've been told to stick with the higher PSI pumps, like 200-250psi so you get a good spray.

I think this link will help you tremendously and may even persuade you to build your own as well...
Do It Yourself Water Alcohol Methanol Injection

I like the DIY approach because 1) it's cheaper, and more importantly 2) when you build something yourself from the ground up, it makes it far easier to diagnose if there's an issue, and you know the whole system inside and out.

Definitely! If you do go that route, be sure to post pics and info along the way for the rest of us!
