Default Keep stacks, or go with cool duals?

I've been contemplating getting rid of the stack setup and going with the MBRP cool dual setup. I like the stacks. I like the way they sound, like the way they look, BUT I would like a little bedspace back and would like a toolbox again. I could lose the stacks, slide the veggie tank farther forward, and put a toolbox over it. I have kind of been wanting to change it up a bit anyways, and now I have a chance to trade my stacks straight for the cool duals. Now that I have the chance to do it, I'm second guessing it. Thoughts? Opinions?

I would do neither, myself. Stacks rob room from the box, attract attention, and depending on the type, let rain water in. That water mixes with the soot, and then it gets sprayed all over your truck when your run it. I also think there is nothing "cool" about duals. There is one turbo outlet, so what's the point of duals? If one had twin turbos, then duals would makes sense to me. My $0.02.

Your stacks look good, I say keep them. I don't care for the other exhaust your considering.

I like duels. I wanted a duel kit, but didnt want to flip the bill. So I went with a 5 inch super truck. I'm thinking a 7 inch tip. I just wanted to be different. Everybody and there brother is running a 4 inch or 5 inch single exit behind the rear wheel.

I'm also comtemplating buying another stick of 5 inch and converting mine into duel super truck, with 5 inch or 6 inch tips.

Duel? As in engaging in combat?

I personally have never been a fan of stacks, there's no "real" need for them and I'm all about if it has not purpose then it's not needed. I realize the stacks are "needed" for drags but how many running stacks are drag trucks? It's a fad just like anything else. I for one use my pickup for what it is intended for...utilitarian purposes. I vote for a good 4" to a 5" tip that's not too flashy. Better to be a sleeper than a tool with a POS IMO.

Actually they are needed in some cases when hauling livestock. Nieghbor had an 7.3 f350 with a straight pipe exhaust using the stock location. He hauled sheep. On the long hauls he would find a few sheep dead in the front corner of the trailer near the exhaust pipe. he added this stack that stood a foot above the cab to remedy the problem. But yes, a large number of people around here just have them for looks.

off topic: mike, what size tires are those in the current pics?

315/70/17's. Going to be getting a 35x12.5x17 or 18 real soon though.

If I do the cool duals, the tips are going to be tucked tight and using black tips. Still not sure which way to go. Obviously there is no "real" need for the stacks... but they sound killer. Drag racers need them in some cases and so do sled pullers. It's in the rules. Sure would suck to have a turbo fall apart and a turbine piece come flying out the side exit exhaust at a million miles an hour towards a crowd of people.

Mike, I have the cool-duals, I couldn't do stacks because my 5th wheel would have hit them. I like the duals as it tends to split the exhaust sound (think stereo) If you want we could meet up sometime and you can see for yourself.
