whining noise
I know that noise issues are hard to describe, but I will do my best. I replaced the CP3 pump
and all went well, except when under a load I am hearing a new deep whiing noise. It is not turbo noise it is almost like a powersteering pump whine when it is low on fluid. It only does it under load no matter the RPM. Can a cracked or damged resonator on the turbo cause this noise, or could it be the O-rings on the intake pipe? Any suggestions please. Thanks

small exhaust leak, I had a very similar sound as you are describing, a high pitched whining, it ended up being the two bolts on the exhaust end of the EGR cooler were loose, I must not have got them tightened back up when we had the heads off, but it was really disconcerting, and it only happened under a load, I was almost sure my turbo had grenaded
Just check things out thoroughly, could be something as simple as a loose bolt or two

Thanks for the heads up. I did check those bolts after you replied and they were pretty tight. I am afraid if I tighten them more I will break the stud off. Do you think it is possible that the gasket is bad. If so I think I will just put a block off plate in it.
