Default My intercooler boot blew off!

Im about 200 miles from home and my intercooler boot fell off. Dont ask me how cuz i have no clue. But is it safe to drive without one? It smokes like crazy and is running on unfiltered air. Someone told me to strap a rag around it as a filter.

A rag will stop the bugs, but dust can still get in. Its better then nothing though. The bigger issue is all that fuel injected and not burnt. You may get away with it, but it may wash your cylinder walls as well.

I wouldn't drive without one... All that air is going towards the motor... Don't want crap getting in there.
