Default up pipes

i need to kno if this is a good idea or not, i pulled the tranny out of my truck to get worked on and knoticed black soot on the up pipes just b4 the turbo, i started the truck and saw a good amount of exhaust leaking out , i was thinking bout breaking out the welder and welding the pipes where they go into the flange that bolts the pipe to the turbo stand,

You have money to get the tranny done, but not money to put in the brass donuts from Beans and fix your up pipes for a long time?

Heres a simple cheap azz fix for ya, slather it with high temp jb weld or metal epoxy.

Spend the $60 for the donuts and fix it right.

DO NOT WELD THEM... They need to slip to allow expansion.

Go to Ford and get some new up pipe gaskets. You can do it with the tranny in, or out, its no harder one way or the other.

I am new here but I am in the same money situation with the same up pipe problem , I just went to napa and got the cheap donut (not the oem replacement made of hard steel) and replaced it on the drvers side, took 45min and no more leak, will have to see if it holds up.
