Default 1994 F-250

I need some advise on the wastegate actuator for my 1994 F-250, it is leaking and the fuel milage sucks, I understand their are wastegate actuators from other years diesel that will fit my 94? and what is the correct setting for my truck? also where can I find one that does not cost big bucks? ,,,Thank you for your help,,,

how do you know it is leaking? what boost are you running?

Default 1994 F-250 diesel

I dont know what the boost is, I dont have any gauges to tell,,as far as the leak goes,,,I was told by a mechanic ( not a diesel mechanic) that the diaprahm in the actuator is shot, it is leaking at that point as I can see it leaking,,Thanks

well, put a boost gauge on it and see what psi it is boosting to. stock wastegate will only allow 8 psi.

stock boost was 6 psi. the pressure diaphram unit will need to be correct for the turbo or it won't work correctly. if you get a new one mark the shaft and unscrew the rod,make shure you hold the shaft don't turn the diaphram part or you will be buying another one, run a tap into the threaded bell crank to remove the crimped stop, find a nut with the correct thread and reassemble the unit to the mark, then screw in the rod, every three turns shorter is about one psi more boost, tighten lock nut, install on the turbo and enjoy new found power.
