Default what is a flat

is a full turn 1 flat wen turning up ip pump

no. you use a 5/32 allen key to turn the pump up. the allen key has 6 sides or "flats". turning the pump up one flat means turning it 1/6th of a turn. a full turn would be 6 flats.

ok thanks man i was wondering what a flat was cuz i turned my truck up last night and how many can you turn it up before burning up the ip pump

it wont burn up the IP. it WILL burn up the motor. turning that screw up will also raise your EGTS and if they go to high will cause the pistons to melt. please tell me you installed a pyrometer before turning up the pump.

ok so how many flats will it take and what should the temp be

every motor is different. one flat is normally on and will not cause it to get to hot. 2 flats will cause a NA motor to get hot, turbed ones are ok. any more and u are asking for trouble.

you want to keep EGTS below 1250 degrees if the probe is mounted in the exhaust manifold.

ok well im running straits on it and i got it turned up 3 flats and its doing ok but ill keep an eye on it thanks for the help i was wondering about that and nice truck

dont tow with it turned up that high. u will be getting towed home.

i turned my screw three times around.nothin has happened except a lil more power and alot of smoke
