Default Is the $250 Terminator Engineering hpop upgrade worth it?

Is that Terminator Engineering upgrade, where you send your HPOP in and they modify it then send it back, any good on these trucks? ALL I plan to do to the truck are mods that wont destroy my stock trans; ie intake, exhaust, tuner, and anything else I can make work.

Is there substantial power (numbers, anyone?) or mpg increases from a TE hpop? Will my auto trans be ok with only doing intake/exhaust/tuner/TE HPOP?

Matt

I saw no improvement with the mod...

Now going from a 15* pump to a 17* pump you will see some, but the the mod itself I was not impressed with.

It depends on the condition of your pump currently... If your pump is in tip top shape, then you might not see as much improvement as modding a worn pump...

If your pump is in good shape and you aren't doing injectors yet, I wouldn't worry about the pump... If its worn, Terminator's deals can't be beat IMO.

Wuuuuut. Really? I thought that the upgrade essentially made it a 17* pump or better...? Are you saying a superduty pump would be more advantageous than a Terminator pump?

What a predicament.

So would a 17* SD pump be better? Would an SD pump increase power/mpg with the combo I'm gonna go with mod-wise?

What Joe is saying is that he didn't see an improvement, Keep in mind he already had a 17* pump and then modded that... You would be going from a 15* pump to a 17*...

A 17* pump would be better than a 15* pump for sure... Whether you just want to throw a used SD pump or send yours off to get modded to a 17* is your choice.

I'm pretty sure that TE makes the pump more than just an average 17* pump... and for $250, it sounds win-win? Not only will I have a 17* pump, but I'll have some additional goodies too...

what kind of power/economy differences can be expected of this TE pump upgrade?

Yes he does more than just turn it into the 17* pump. As far as the differences, I can't really comment on that because I haven't done it to mine. My stock pump runs so far so good.

The only thing Joey does to the 17* pump is remove some check valves and restrictions, its still a 17* pump and can only put out so much oil per revolution...

I was not impressed. Only reason I sent him mine at all was to get cleaned after the motor blew.

If your looking for more oil then you need I would look at the SRP-1.

Thanks for the input Joe! Still trying to see what I can come up with to make a few hp more w/out having to rebuild the trans.
