Simple question, I figure? I know it creates a direct-drive or something or other... its supposed to help with economy and power... but thats about all I know about that.

It locks up the Torque Converter...

So basically it does exactly what tony wildman is gonna do for me in my custom tuning; take better control of the clutches and torque convertor...

Yes sir... You will feel 4 shifts with Tony's tunes... 1-2, 2-3, lockup and then into OD.
